Learning the Musical Alphabet

This week at harp club, children have been playing games to learn more about the musical alphabet. They built a giant Alphabet snake and then played games reciting the alphabet forward and backwards! (really tricky when you've never done it!) - Then they are relating the alphabet with colours and writing notes on the stave in the correct places! In that way they can very early write and read their own music.

Music Club with parents

What a delight having on the last day of term parents and family joining the children in playing all the Music Mind Games that we've been working on all term!

Parents were a bit surprised when they had to put a real effort into being able to play some of the games that the children were so proficient at, and in seeing how the children knew really well about many music theory concepts that they did not know!

It was a real pleasure seeing the parents having fun with the children and the children ...
